Birthday Gift for 5 Year-Old Boy?
I have exactly 10 days to decide on an awesome gift for my nephew Bear. And I don’t think I can afford the small car he wants. Ideas?

Most 5-year-old boys loooove to get cute clothes. He might pretend to ignore the gift and move on to the next; he may not speak to you for several months except for in grunts; but deep down, he knows that clothes are where it’s at.
Or . . . a ukulele? NERF gun? Chemistry set? Entomology beginner’s kit?

Superman cape with a big B on the back? (Inspiration photos)

I second Casey’s suggestion. Any kind of super hero costume involving a cape and a mask.

He got a cape with a B on it as a PARTY FAVOR at another kid’s birthday last year. Extravagant party favor, and totally awesome. Good idea, though.

He is a Brilliant Child. He needs challenge that is intriguing, imaginative, has an element of surprise, and remains downright fun. Keep in mind that this does not have to be contained in one package. Now go!

See, this is exactly why it’s hard to buy gifts for him! One present I can promise, I’m going to Texas for the party. My sister’s going to make it a surprise.
